Welcome to Western Gailes

If you enjoy the challenge of links golf, Western Gailes will test your skills to the limit. Regarded by many as the hidden gem of Scottish links, it is a course that we believe should be in every golfer’s “must  play” list.

David Livingstone, Sky Sports

Since golf was first played in 1427 Scotland has long since been regarded as its home and a sporting mecca for lovers and players of this great and ancient game.

In that time, while no fewer than 550 courses have been designed and built to challenge players of all levels, only links golf provides a true test of skill and character across courses designed by nature and made great by centuries of tradition.

None more so than on the Ayrshire coast of the greatest little country in the world where the elements of nature, architecture and tradition come together to provide a test of golf like no other on a course that should feature on every players ‘must play’ list – Western Gailes.

From its traditional clubhouse with views over the hills of Arran and the sharp outline of the Ailsa Craig, Western Gailes Golf Club provides a classic real test of golf across an undulated terrain with plentiful pot bunkers, meandering burns and finely contoured greens, all set in surrounding sand dunes.

Only 45 minutes from Glasgow and 90 minutes from Edinburgh, It’s a course that’s already challenged professionals and amateurs alike such as Rory McIlroy, Bernard Gallagher and Geoff Ogilvy and is now ready to challenge you!

Come and walk in the footsteps of some legends of the great game of golf.
